About me & the Radical Healthy Minds programme

Hi, I’m Sam, the founder of Samantha Hannah Wellbeing Academy.

For over 10 years I’ve been working with adolescents (12-24 years) in classrooms as a wellbeing teacher, in my private practice as a wellbeing coach, at Massey University as their Wellbeing Advisor and in the sports arena as a high-performance netball coach - college, club and representatives.

I’m also a Mum of two teenage daughters.

I understand how challenging teaching, coaching and raising adolescents can be. But more importantly, I know first-hand the mental and emotional health and wellbeing issues our adolescents face today, and how to help them.

I’m on a mission to help as many adolescents (12-24) as I can strengthen their overall wellbeing

So they can reduce their stress, overwhelm, anxiety and depression by gaining vital life skills that help them adapt to change, build resilience and gain more knowledge about their emotions - especially the uncomfortable ones.

Many of our adolescents are in a mental and emotional health and wellbeing crisis. This needs our immediate and focused attention.

Now more then ever we all need to help our adolescents strengthen their wellbeing so they’re better able to cope with mental and emotional health issues as they arise, now and throughout life.

Radical Healthy Minds

My Approach

I have spent years studying, researching, delivering, experiencing and embodying everything I teach inside the Radical Healthy Minds programme.

I am 100% dedicated to empowering our adolescent’s wellbeing as I have the deepest desire to see our adolescents thrive in life - they deserve to!

Radical Healthy Minds programme is for parents, teachers and coaches who are interested in strengthening their wellbeing and their adolescents

by the way of ‘done for you’ lessons, resources, tools and supportive monthly coaching calls.

The Radical Healthy Minds Programme is an easy-to-use, fun way to help adolescents develop resilience, adapt to change and achieve their goals. It’s simple to implement into your family, classroom or team training, and adolescents love it!

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do this program. I have learned so much about wellbeing and I have learned key skills like meditation, which I cannot imagine my life without it now. The course has helped me massively with my anxiety and panic attacks, and has encouraged me to learn more about wellbeing and how the mind works. You have truly changed my life with your teachings and I cannot express how grateful I am.
— Chris - age 17

So there is a Radical Healthy Mind programme for you to learn new ‘healthy mind’ habits and mindful ways of being.

Awareness

40Z_brain_growth_concept.jpg

Cultivating self-awareness is vital for our adolescents so they can identify what is going on both internally and externally in their lives.

When they are aware they can identify what they are feeling, the difference between helpful and unhelpful thinking, how they want to behave at any given moment and how to take care of their needs.

Belonging

162Z_Brain_Lamp_from_Head_Time.jpg

Developing a sense of belonging is a basic human need. It helps our adolescents see the value in life and cope with life’s big challenges.

When an adolescent has a tribe behind them that teaches them that they belong, they feel more relaxed, open and motivated. Their wellbeing and happiness increases and they’re more engaged.

Connection

Learning about the importance of connection is vital to our adolescent’s overall health and wellbeing as it’s one of our most important human needs.

We need connection to survive! Feeling connected to friends, family and community will strengthen your adolescent’s wellbeing and can be a protective factor against anxiety and depression.

Growth

Everything we teach inside our programmes is for the growth and development of you and your adolescent. We want to see you all succeed.

We believe in taking a mindfulness-based approach that is well researched, science lead and embodied by us to ensure our adolescents strengthen wellbeing and grow as a human BEING.

WORDS OF LOVE

Sam sorted through the noise in my head, gave me clarity on what my goals are. She encouraged me and gave me direction on how I can work towards them mindfully.

— Carissa Fairbrother (parent)

Personally, Sam’s programme had a huge positive impact on me. One thing I took away is how to breathe - like, just breathe and think before I act. And the most important thing I learnt is that emotions are like roller coasters and they’re never permanent. If you’re in a bad head space, don’t do anything to yourself. It will pass so talk to someone.

— Jayda Rua - year 12 student

What an amazing journey! Within 10 weeks Sam gave me the courage, belief, tools and empowerment to live the best version of Me! Her extensive knowledge, experience, and passion for what she does literally peeled the layers off me to drill down to the core of who I am. I’m more calm, so are my boys. I have and will continue to recommend, Sam.

— Jiggy Govind (parent)

I learnt that its possible to feel more calm and I can express what I feel; I don’t need to keep things to myself. I loved learning the programme at school!

— Osheanah - year 13 student.

“I believe its our collective responsibility to help our adolescent thrive”.
