Sam’s Story

I’m a Mum of two teens, wife, and a wellbeing coach with a passion for netball, coconut matcha lattes, and yoga. But above all else, I am love!

There was a time when I didn't love myself so much though.  I was on a mission to show the world that I could do everything, all at once and I was a hot mess for it.

I was completely out of value + burnt out, aiming to achieve meaningless goals and completely disconnected from who and what I truly was. 

The outside world saw success; a TV host and stylist running a great business, married, two kids, premier netball player, and athlete training for the 1/2 ironman.

But inside I felt broken. 

My dream of being a calm and fully present earth mother was virtually nonexistent; I was tired yet too wired to sleep.  So anxious, exhausted, and embarrassingly impatient with my family. 

I was a human DOING, not a human BEING.

Then one day I found myself in hospital mentally, emotionally + physically exhausted. I was unable to breathe properly, I felt faint, nauseous and so unwell.

I would discover that night that I was having an anxiety attack (the first of many) and that I was suffering from anxiety.  When I asked the doctor how I could stop this from happening again, his answer was, 'Talk to your GP about medication!'.

I couldn't believe it. Surely there were other options to try?! As much as medication can help some people (and it's necessary) I just knew in my heart it wasn't for me. There had to be another way.

So I went on a beautiful, and at times challenging, journey to rediscover who and what I was.

And it was during this journey that I become a certified master level wellbeing coach, registered yoga teacher, and advanced level meditation teacher certified in the 1 Giant Mind Being Technique.

It’s so simple to learn and effortless to practice. You will easily be able to make into a daily habit on your own.

This Being technique requires no focus or control.  You can do it from anywhere, anytime and it requires 0% previous experience. Plus, it's not religious and is fully inclusive.

Meditation is a way of connecting to our deepest intelligence, allowing our body’s immune system to function at it’s best, our nervous systems to rest and our minds to function in a more calm and peaceful way.

The meditation technique that I teach helps you stay healthier, calmer and happier.

Course Outline

Session 1 
The Technique

In this session, I will teach you how to practise the 1 Giant Mind Being Technique.  We then meditate together and after we’ve practised, we review our experiences. You will then learn the basics of stress and how to get the most from this practice.

Session 2
Mechanics of stress

We begin our session with a meditation and further refine our understanding of the meditation steps.  Then we go deeper into the mechanics of the meditation practice, how we release stress and establish a daily meditation habit.

Session 3 
Functions of the Mind

In session 3 we again meditate followed by Q & A to ensure you know how to practise the technique. We will also explore how this Being technique helps you understand and support the functions of your mind.

FAQs

What if I have never meditated before, is this course ok for me?

This course is perfect for you!
It's for everyone - seasoned practitioners of another technique and those new to meditating. It's ok to feel a little nervous and uncertain about everything.  You'll soon settle into the course and meet a beautiful, like-minded community who will offer a lot of love and support.  

If learning online, what device do I need to do the course on?

You are required to attend the course online via your laptop or computer, unless your mobile phone is the only device you have. In which case your phone will need to be propped up at all times.

Also, if learning online, can I do this course from anywhere in my home?

There are some important guidelines that must be followed so that you get the best experience possible.

  1. You must be in a quiet space where you will won't be disturbed for 90 minutes

  2. If you have pets, they can not be in the room with you.

  3. You must not move around for the duration of the 90 minute session

  4. You are required to have good lighting

  5. You are required to position yourself close to the camera so that your face can be clearly seen by me. 

What if something comes up and I can't make one of the days?

It's ok. We understanding that anything can come up. If you need to miss one session for reasons out of your control, we can arrange a way to have you complete that day. If you miss two days, we'll arrange for you to attend the next meditation course.

Is there anything special I need to prepare before I meditate?

We meditate sitting up. So you just need a comfortable place to sit that will support your lower back. A chair or sofa is great. I won't be asking you to sit in an uncomfortable, cross-legged position or form a mudra (a symbol held with the hands). This practice is all about being as comfortable and relaxed as possible.  There is nothing special you need to wear either. Be you. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable.
